KITA (Chairman: Jin-Sik Yoon) co-hosted "UAE embassy & KITA Workshop on Economic Partnership" with the UAE embassy on Tuesday, 20 May at the Trade Tower in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
This seminar was organised to offer the business environment in the UAE and utilising Korea - UAE CEPA as a tool to expand business in the UAE as it is expected that Korea and the UAE will see more robust bilateral economic cooperation. The Korea - UAE CEPA was officially signed in May last year. The seminar was attended by approximately 100 people, including Ki-hyeon Kim, the Vice President for International Cooperation at KITA, H.E.Abdulla Al Nuaimi, the UAE ambassador to Korea and business representatives with plans to expand their business in the UAE.
Vice President Kim mentioned, "Korea's exports to the UAE in 2024 increased by 14.3% yoy, which made UAE our 13th largest trading partner and it is expected bilateral trade and investment will significantly increase once CEPA goes into effect". He added, "KITA plans to be actively engaged in activities to act as a bridge for more business exchanges by establishing Korea - UAE economic cooperation committee".
