KITA (Chairman Jin Sik Yoon) co-hosted ROK-SEUS Economic Partnership Conference on Friday, 23 August (local time) in collaboration with the Consulate General of Korea in Atlanta, Atlanta Trade Attache from KOTRA and six south-eastern state (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee) governments.
Along with key figures - KITA Vice President Inho Lee, Consul General Sang-pyo Seo, Secretary of Alabama Department of Commerce Ellen McNair, Commissioner of the Department of Tennessee Economic and Community Development Stuart C. McWhorter, South Carolina Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III - at least 300 officials and entrepreneurs from Korea and the U.S. attended the conference.
During the plenary session, presentations and discussions on the following issues took place: a) up-to-date business performance of Korean renewable energy and EV companies in the southeastern region of the U.S. and b) ESG and CSR of Korean companies that are engaged in business activities in the U.S. Additionally, multiple side-events took place as well, including consultations by industry experts and investment consultation sessions hosted by state governments to support such companies.
