Google remains the most favorite foreign workplace for Korean jobseekers.
According to a survey by the local job portal provider SaraminHR, 34.3 percent out of 423 jobseekers selected Google Korea as their first choice among all foreign names doing business in Korea.
BMW Korea came second with 18.0 percent, followed by Coca-Cola Korea with 14.7 percent, Starbucks Korea with 13.9 percent, Apple Korea with 13.2 percent, Facebook Korea with 11.3 percent, Chanel with 10.9 percent, Gucci Korea with 10.4 percent, Microsoft Korea with 10.4 percent, and Disney Korea with 10.2 percent.
Fair corporate culture was the top reason for Koreans opting foreign workplaces over Korean companies (42.8 percent). Other reasons were higher salary base (33.3 percent), employee compensations (31.4 percent), overseas job opportunities (28.1 percent), and multinational name value (27.9 percent).
About 65.7 percent of the job applicants said proficiency in foreign language should be their first aptitude.
Google has remained the favorite for the last 10 years, the surveyor said.
