KITA New York Office and 7 organizations including the Consulate General of the
Republic of Korea in New York signed MOU on Vitalization
of Korean-American Startup Ecosystem
on July 28th (local time) at the New York Korea Center Startup
The 7 organizations that signed the MOU included the Korean-American Innovative
Technology Engineers and Entrepreneurs (KITEE), the Korean Startups &
Entrepreneurs (KSE), the City University of New York (CUNY), the Korean Chamber
of Commerce and Industry in the USA (KOCHAM), and KOTRA USA.
Lee Sang-joon of KITA New York Office stated, “K-Startups established in New
York and New Jersey have great potential. With more regular startup networking
opportunities, incubating, and platform sharing, the K-Startups in the eastern
U.S. will gain more significance in the region.”
to KITA, there are over 5,700 startups just in the greater New York City area,
57 of which are Unicorn startups with a valuation over 1 billion dollars.
