The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman: Kim Young-ju) stated that it hosed ‘Information Session on Rules of Origin for Companies Exporting Automobiles and Parts to North America’ on July 22nd.

The information session provided Korean companies in the North American market or included in the North American supply chain with information on the rules of origin for automobiles and parts according to the new US-Mexico-Canada Agreement that set into effect as of July 1st. The attendees were especially pleased with the presentation that included interpretation of the agreement on the rules of origin for automobiles and parts and actual example cases that apply to Korean companies.

Director Je Hyun-jung of the KITA Center for Trade Studies & Cooperation stated, “Since Korea is not part of USMCA, it is difficult for companies to get information within Korea.” She added, “KITA is planning to provide active assistance to Korean companies in the North American market through ‘Specialized Consultation Service on USMCA Rules of Origin.’”
