    KITA Holds “2021 World IT Show”... 5G·Digital New Deal Companies On Hand

    - Video call robots will tour exhibition hall and carry out video consultations on behalf of overseas buyers -


    The “2021 World IT Show” hosted by the Korea International Trade Association (Chairman: Christopher Koo) takes place at COEX in Samseong-dong from April 21st to the 23rd.


    Under the theme of 'Digital New Deal with 5G Technology', 305 companies including large corporations such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, SK Telecom (SKT) and KT, and promising small and medium sized enterprises and institutions from 4 fields of ▲Un-tact, ▲Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT), ▲Early Tech Adopter, and ▲Intelligent Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Convergence Service are participating the event.


    In particular, robots are expected to play significant roles in exhibition tours and video consultations. When the overseas buyers who cannot visit Korea due to COVID-19 access to the robot remotely, the robot visits the participating companies' booths on behalf of the buyers and displays the products by utilizing video call function. If the buyers want consultations, they are connected instantly.


    The two-day non-face-to-face export conference takes place from April 21st. During the event, 40 large telecommunication companies and IT distribution and service buyers from 9 countries such as China, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc., including Anovo, a Chinese industrial computer development company, Telkom Indonesia, the largest telecommunications company in Indonesia, and FPT Software, an IT software service company in Vietnam are scheduled to conduct video consultations with 80 Korean IT companies. In addition, 10 specialized trading companies will tour the exhibition hall and carry out on-site business consultations with promising companies in order to diversify their export marketing channels.


    Vu Khoan, general director of research and development (R&D) at Viettel, Vietnam's largest communications company, said, “We are developing services such as Dynamic Ad Insertion(DAI) Technology, which displays customized and targeted commercials to individual users who are watching video content,” and added, “I am participating in this event to find excellent media service companies in Korea.”


    Kim Hyun-chul, head of the Global Marketing Group at KITA, stated, ”ICT exports are showing an upward trend for 10 consecutive months due to the effect of the pent-up demand, which refers to a strong demand after the recent pandemic, and the recovery of the mobile market stagnation,” and added, ” and added, “We will provide more opportunities for Korean small and medium-sized companies to showcase their excellent technologies to global big buyers so that they can also take advantage of increasing exports.”
