    KITA Held “KITA Contactless Grand Sourcing Fair 2021”

    - 244 Korean companies had online video conferences with 70 overseas buyers and Lotte Mart Vietnam …

    KITA said, We will continue to hold video conferences, online and offline fairs and consultations until the pandemic situation improves -

     

    The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman: Christopher Koo) announced that it held the “KITA Contactless Grand Sourcing Fair 2021” at COEX in Samseong-dong for two days from March 30th to 31st.

     

    The main event was held for two days in a form of video conference for overseas buyers and video conferences between large companies' certified trading companies and domestic enterprises. As an additional event, a seminar took place to inform the successful cases of exportd by utilizing non-face-to-face marketing and video consultation strategies and techniques.

     

    Lotte Mart's local subsidiary in Vietnam participated in a video conference, which took place as part of a project to support win-win exports of large corporations and small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and conducted consultations with 50 Korean manufacturing companies. Lotte Mart Vietnam's merchandiser (MD) of each item will select competitive companies through this consultation and follow-up evaluation and hold local offline promotion events in Vietnam in June.

     

    In the video conference for export consultation by inviting overseas buyers was jointly held with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. 70 overseas buyers from 16 countries including Europe, such as Spain, Italy and France, Middle East and Asia participated in and carried out 320 consultations with 196 Korean food, cosmetics and household goods companies. Large retail companies such as Paris Store, a French supermarket chain, Central Retail Vietnam, a Vietnamese retailer, and China Resources Vanguard Co., Ltd., a Hong Kong distribution chain took part in the event as major buyers.

     

    An official from JDB Network, a large Japanese retailer, said, “We participated in the event for sourcing new products and collecting information. We are satisfied with many Korean companies with unique and competitive products.” Chaeum Plus, which exports pet products, said, "We have participated in KITA's video conference before, and we decided to take part in the event again because we liked the buyer that the organization had matched for us,” and added, “I hope that we will be able to make a contract as we have a good buyer.”

     

    Chairman Christopher Koo of the Korea International Trade Association visited the venue on March 31st and encouraged participating companies by saying, “Until the pandemic situation gets better, we will continue to provide supports for the development of various overseas sales channels on a non-face-to-face basis, such as video conferences for export consultation and online and offline-linked exhibition consultations.”.

     

    During the online seminar held for two days, 4 companies that succeeded in exporting through the video conference hosted by the Korea International Trade Association shared their non-face-to-face marketing strategies, such as video consultation strategies and how to use online platforms by market and item, etc.

     

    Kim Hyun-chul, head of the Global Marketing Group at the Korea International Trade Association, said, “Last year, we supported Korean companies' export consultations through 45 video conferences as well as 38 online exhibitions,” and added, “We made every effort to identify buyers' demand in detail and provide optimal matching service and follow-up supports. As a result, various success stories have been produced and the success experiences are spreading as they are shared by the export industry. A virtuous cycle is being established.”
