KITA Supports Startups to Join Amazon Launchpad

    - Amazon Launchpad, a program only for innovative products, has selected 30 companies premium marketing will be supported for one year -

The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman: Kim Young-Ju) announced on May 7th that 30 Korean startups were selected for the “Amazon Launchpad”, the premium marketing support program for the global e-commerce platform Amazon (, through the 2020 Amazon Launchpad X KITA”.

The Korea International Trade Association supported tailored consultation and catalog production for 76 companies that applied for the program in March, and the Amazon Launchpad team made a short list of 30 startups in various fields, including electronics, beauty, and household items. In the future, the organization will cooperate with Amazon to continuously support sales and delivery of Launchpad products of those companies.

Amazon Launchpad is a program to help launch and expand innovative products from entrepreneurs globally by utilizing Amazon's existing global platform and expertise. For the companies selected for the Launchpad program, Amazon will provide intensive consultation in regard to product promotion, sales and delivery at all times for one year. In addition, premium services such as differentiated product promotion pages, and video and storytelling marketing will be offered.

The Amazon Launchpad has strict and demanding selection criteria and only 2.9 percent of tens of thousands of applicants around the world are successful to join the program. To that extent, purchasing conversion rate is significant. Generally, if 5 out of 100 people purchase items from a regular Amazon seller, in the case of Launchpad package, over 20 out of 100 end up purchasing the products.

Cho Sang-hyun, chief of Global Startup Center at the Korea International Trade Association, said, For startups, joining the Amazon Premium Market not only helps the sales, but also can be an opportunity to verify global market demand and attract investment, and added, We will continue to create global scale-up opportunities through online platforms for startups struggling with COVID-19.

The Korea International Trade Association and Amazon will continue to select promising startups to join the Launchpad program on a regular basis.
