    Trade Industry Urges to Enhance Industrial Competitiveness through Adaptation and Innovation

    - KITA held the Corporate Competitiveness Enhancement Committee to Overcome the Crisis of Industrial Competitiveness -

     

     

    The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman, Kim In-ho) held the “Corporate Competitiveness Enhancement Committee to Overcome the Crisis of Industrial Competitiveness" at the COEX Intercontinental Hotel in Seoul, Korea on April 12, urging the next government and the National Assembly to cope with the competitiveness crisis of the main industries and create new industries.

     

    The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) has been concerned that while the rival countries have been undergoing severe restructure after the financial crisis in 2008, the Korean government has missed the golden time to reform the shipbuilding industry as well as other insolvent businesses. In addition, the organization is also worried about the political circles’ recent activities to introduce numerous regulatory legislations that restrain companies’ free activities.   

     

    Kim Jung-kwan, vice chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, adopted the restoration of industrial competitiveness, which is the foundation of economic activities as well as exports, as a top priority for the next government in the resolution to overcome the crisis of industrial competitiveness" and called for the next government to promote consistent policies that are not shaken by populism and to promote the autonomous restructuring of the market. In addition, he also urged the National Assembly to do its best to legislative activities to create an ecosystem to enhance the competitiveness of our industries and a good environment for businesses.

     

    The Corporate Competitiveness Enhancement Committee of the Korea International Trade Association led the adoption of the resolution. The committee voiced that the trade industry will do its best to cultivate competitiveness in accordance with its first mover reputation in the global market through bold investment based on entrepreneurship and continuous innovation activities.
